Course Overview
This Managing Security Systems Technology course is an essential exploration of the technologies and key ideas used in today’s fast-moving security arena.
It will give you an understanding of the technologies available such as barriers, perimeter fencing, CCTV (VSS) cameras, access control, intruder alarms & security systems integration and how they come together and can be employed to reduce and deter crime.
From looking at an overview of security systems to budgeting and designing a system, this training covers a range of core subject expected of today’s technical security manager.
With its prestigious level BTEC Level 5 Award this training has been designed for middle and senior management who are not necessarily hands-on with the equipment but need to understand the technologies used. You will gain an appreciation on how security systems technology can provide realistic solutions whilst working to a budget, and be able to converse with knowledge and authority with security managers, systems engineers and fellow security professionals.

Lewis began his career as a Weapons Engineering Mechanic in The Royal Navy working with weapons systems, telecommunications, magazine safety sprinkler systems and small arms. On leaving the Royal Navy Lewis joined one of the UK’s largest independent security systems companies as their Chief service/installation engineer, then in 1999 was head-hunted to become the Head of Engineering at the Career Transition Partnership to run their engineering department and to deliver Security Systems training courses.
